Arty Bra Cancer Fundraiser 2018

My thoughts around my arty Bra submission work, supporting friends going through breast cancer and other forms of cancer, I knew I had to contribute to this very near and dear cause.

What inspired me to take part in this project: The lives of many friends, neighbours, family that has been affected by cancer over the years, breast, bowel, pancreatic, prostate affecting so many people I care deeply about, it was time I did something about this and my way of giving back to the cancer wellness support community in the Blue Mountains, thinking of what the theme would be was challenging.

Thinking of the environment at the same time, why not something that was recycled, or should I say upcycled, and out of tea bags was perfect.

Recycling is a must these days, but the lives of cancer patients, are so important, as they come to terms with cancer, treatment, and remission, their families’ friends and loved ones are so very critical for their recovery, each day as they go through there lives of coping and living and recovery, and some even losing the fight to this illness, this is for them.

The Bra, was spray painted, first with colour, then layers of Upcycled tea bags were painted individually with water colours each one had a special message on them, then stuck onto the bra one by one, the rose in the middle of the bra, was constructed to make a rose, out of the dried used tea bags, then painted, the straps on the bra, where all tea bag tags, added with Glue Gun, love contributing to Blue Mountains, Art Projects for the community good, my Artwork raised, $450 to the evening.

My work was called Tea-Rific 1.1 Bra by Tea Bags Rose.
